What do you do if you find yourself locked out of your admin panel? Forgetting the admin password can be a hurdle, but fortunately, there’s a straightforward way to Reset your CyberPanel Password using Secure Shell (SSH). This guide walks you through the process step by step.
Connect to Your Server:
Open your terminal for Mac users or SSH clients for Windows for my Putty is my first choice.
Connect to your server using the following command:
ssh username@your_server_ip
Replace username with your actual server username and your_server_ip with your server’s IP address.
Accessing CyberPanel:
Once logged in, you need to navigate to the CyberPanel directory. Depending on your installation, this might vary, but generally, you can find it in your home directory or under /usr/local/CyberPanel.
Resetting the Password:
CyberPanel provides a script to reset the admin password. Execute the following command:
adminPass newpassword
Replace “newpassword” with your desired password which you want to set
Follow the on-screen instructions. You’ll be prompted to enter a new password for the admin user.
Verifying the Reset:
After resetting the password, it’s crucial to verify that you can log in to the CyberPanel admin panel with the new credentials.
Open your web browser and go to your CyberPanel admin URL, then log in using the new password.
